Feeder bus

feeder service

Just Tell Me

A feeder bus connects an MRT station or bus interchange with nearby homes, workplaces and places within the same Singapore neighbourhood.

Also called: feeder service

Explain Like I’m Five

A feeder bus handles the shorter local part of a journey. It brings people between a transport hub and the surrounding estate, instead of travelling a long route across several parts of Singapore.

Where You’ll Run Into It

You may take one from an MRT station or bus interchange to an HDB block, school or industrial area that is not right beside the rail line.

Example

“Take the feeder bus from the interchange for three stops.”

The bus is being used for the final local stretch after a longer train or bus journey.

The Part People Get Wrong

A feeder bus is still part of the public-bus network. “Feeder” describes the route’s local connecting role, not a separate kind of vehicle.
